Truth

Just needed to write to get my feelings out. Nothing too special just some free writing. This poem is for you…. you know who you are.

If I put down in words,
Exactly how I feel,
Maybe you could see,
This is something real.

Not a joke nor pretend,
No matter way you say,
My heart you’re toying with,
Much to your dismay.

My eyes you blinded easily,
With the words you spoke,
Begging me to trust you
My dismissal to revoke.

But now the veil is lifted,
And the picture’s not the same,
Was it sincerity that left your tongue,
Or simply just a game?

Here I stand in fear,
Broken and alone,
Debating if you care,
For the feelings I have shown.

I must know,
The time is now,
Clearly I must see…
Is it something else you wanted,
Or is it really me???

My new anthem!!!

Matthew 11:28-29 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

This is my cousin Adam! Im loving this and so prevalent to things I have just went through in my past relationship! This is the description they posted of the song:

Sure, run and jump into the pool, but just make sure there’s some water…

Here, I was moved to try to describe that sensation of getting into a relationship too fast, from both points of view. Of buying the ticket before you know where you want to go, only for all the successive feelings of doubt and insecurity to overwhelm the actual desire.

This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soul mate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.

The Shadow

This is the latest poem I just finished writing. Its a metaphoric comparison of heartbreak to a human shadow. The scars and relationships of our past always follow us no matter where we go, but realizing that we are the ones that shape our future is the key. The experiences, heartbreak, pain, and happiness we have felt travel behind us as we move forward. They define who we are in the present, but they don’t have to define who we are in the future.

The pain I feel within my soul
like a shadow stuck behind,
an unrelenting toll
plaguing at my mind.

Unable to be shaken
Tis the load I bare,
As a hostage I am taken
This monster plays not fair.

Forward motion is in vain
my movements it must follow,
Escaping it with no gain
Acceptance I must swallow.

For in my past you’ll always rest
A part of me you’ll be,
But having faith is the best
And clearly now I see.

I’m the one who has the reigns
And not the other way around,
I’m the controller of this pain
Is the honesty I’ve found.

Friday!!!!

Friday!!!!

I have the same fears. I have the same scars that you have… I showed them to you. The only difference between you and I is that you’re afraid to love again. Now you have to look me in the eyes and tell me, do you love me or do you love me not? Run away from me, but you’re running away from all the great possibilities of your own life.

The road to self-discovery…

What up tumblr world!

Wow… I finally did it. The funny thing is I find myself wondering why I didn’t make one of these sooner. I guess its one of those things you always meant to do, but just never got around to actually doing, regardless I have one now. This is obviously my introductory post and let me just preface it by saying this…. if you’re looking for an incredibly well written and grammatically correct blog you are so barking up the wrong tree. If you are, however, interested in the occasional insight that passes through my mind and maybe a poem here and there by all means follow me. For the most part, I will be posting, blogging, writing, etc. as I work through the path to rediscover myself… the real me, not who I think I should be or who other people want me to be, but just simply me. Looking forward to the journey!
